Meningococcal B

You may be asking what Meningococcal B is well it is meningococcal disease is an uncommon but serious infection which is caused by the bacteria Neisseria meningitidis.

People who are surrounded by carriers (people who carry the disease but don’t show any symptoms) are most likely to be affected by this disease. People who live in crowded living conditions may also be affected by this disease.

Meningococcal B may be transferred if a carrier’s saliva is spread to a person that isn’t infected

To prevent it you should have separate brushes, avoiding sharing drinks, food and utensils, avoiding mouth to mouth contact, covering coughs and sneezes, reducing overcrowding in homes. Also regular hand washing and avoid smoking.
